The end.
My friends and I do stuff. It's usually cute stuff. Or funny stuff. Anyway, here it is!

Wedding Wear
I've been obsessed with the J. Crew Bubble necklace, just like the rest of the blogosphere. But I'm poor, so I bought 2 on Ebay.

Parrots and Rainbows
So, still talking about honeymoon accessories, I wore some really cute parrot earrings by Betsey Johnson. Sad to hear she's going out of business. She has some cute as heck jewelry, although I was never too into any of the clothing. I also have cute octopi/squid and elephant earrings by Betsey.
I wore some beaded earrings I got from Halls. Very Mexico.
And, last but not least, I brought back the rainbow bracelet from St. Patrick's Day.
DIY Carmelo Necklace
Months and months ago, this gorgeous Anthropologie necklace caught my eye. I actually considered buying it. The $48 price tag is pretty reasonable for Anthro. However, the sparkly bead reminded me of some that my mother-in-law had received as a gift from India.
I decided to give it a go and do-it-myself! I had nothing to lose!
I think it went pretty well. I'm not included instructions because I basically took all the beads and strung them together. I used fingernail polish, acrylic, and some spray paint to alter the colors of the beads I already had. I also used washers in between some of the large beads because the holes were too big. I could have made the main beads a little more yellow to match the Carmelo necklace, but I prefer the orange color for now.

Neck Candy
So, I just got back from my honeymoon - or as I like to call it - nectarsun. I'll post more on my wedding and other adventures soon! However, here are some examples of the pretty necklaces I rocked while in Mexico.
I like orange. My mother-in-law made me this necklace several years ago. It's totally made out of real rocks!
My hubs calls this my "hip-hop" outfit. I was really trying to go more J.Crew, but either way it was a good pool-side pop of color!
I wore this necklace to Crococun to visit some snakes, crocodiles and lizards. I thought its dino-like appearance was appropriate for the outing.
I've had this turquoise beaded necklace for years. I got it from World Market, which is a great place to get unique, affordable, tribal-ish jewelry.
I actually got this necklace at Halls, a departments store subsidiary of Hallmark Cards. That's right, I payroll deduct this stuff, and with a DISCOUNT! And everyone thought I got it in Mexico.

Wine Country
Last weekend I visited wine country! Missouri wine country! The trip started out in St. Louis, where we hit up a few cute restaurants.
I didn't see Nelly, but I came upon this lovely STL scene of City Museum. What's not to love?! There's a Ferris wheel (on a roof!) and a praying mantis who appears to be attacking the wheel. I didn't get a chance to take a ride, but I'll be back.
Blondie's was the perfect spot for a girl's brunch, complete with mimosas!
My newest arm party - the red version. Also, wear your seat belt. I do.
The view from Oak Glenn Winery was fabulous. I even spotted a deer grazing by a little inlet. My favorite winery was Adam Puchta, though. What can I say, I like crackers and cookies that coordinate with my drinks!
I strongly suggest that anyone in the Midwest check out Hermann, MO. Be sure to take the trolley with Kevin!

Life is a Special Occasion!
Last week we celebrated our 2 year anniversary at the USA's largest manufacturer of greeting cards. In true form, we went a little overboard with our celebrations for this type of occasion. We wore festive t-shirts, made punch and cookies, and generally were very excited.
We stuck with purple for the theme, accented with gold napkins and multicolored Belly Flops.
These monster cookies are NOT from Sisters Bakery, but were still very good. Similar recipe here, but add peanuts and stuff.
Belly Flops - my new obsession. I thought they were IMITATION Jelly Bellies at first, but I soon discovered they were simply defective/irregular Jelly Bellies for a fraction of the cost! Say it isn't so!
I am the punch queen! The great thing about party punch is that you just need to pick a color and go with it. Grab a pop/soda + juice + sherbet in that color, add lemonade and ginger ale, and it will taste good 99% of the time. Also, I call it SURE-BURT.
So send a card. It's the biggest little thing you can do.

Blue. Green.
Looking back through some pics of 2011 I noticed a cluster of brilliantly colored scenes.
I'm not a gal who is scared of bugs. Especially not cool bugs like this little guy who clung to my Corsica's antennae to and from work. I finally had to relocate him in the forest. And yes, that photo was taken while I was driving.
One of my favorite events is the Ol' Marais River Run Car Show in Ottawa, KS. They don't make 'em like they used to.
A neat print in Square Pizza - Independence, MO.
Rainbow citrus cake from Succotash.
