Party Arty - Steampunk

This weekend the Ya-Ya Sisterpantshood attended Party Arty 2012 at the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum. This was my first time attending the event, but a good time was had by all! The theme was "All the World's a Fair" and steampunk attire was encouraged. Of course, I decided to try and make my own steampunk necklace.

I made it with some trinkets I bought on Etsy. I ran short on time, so I used a combination of hot glue and craft glue to attach the pieces. Sadly, by the end of the night, one of my gears had fallen off. Oh well.

One of my friends had her hair done in a messy side ponytail with a steampunk broach in it. Twas adorable!

Another gal put a combo of funky necklaces on to complete her ensemble.

Anyway, the best aspects of the night were:

Making it into awkward photos on a local website
