Top Models: Part 1

My husband and I were asked to model for photography workshop over the weekend. We pretty much love getting our picture taken, and I think we're relatively photogenic! What do you think? These shots are by Aimee Geis Photography. Check out her website!

 Handsome, right?!

My Valentine's Day (According to Instagram)

... Because everything looks better with filters.

Hey everybody! Come see how cute I look in my layered necklaces! Top one is from Francesca's, bottom one is from Ebay.

Valentine's Day brought about another successful cookie batch!

... and cake pops... and weird tasting red velvet sparkling drink!

Husband took me for lunch at Succotash. Unfortunately, he did not buy me this cake.Sad face.

Mmmm. Salmon salad.

I have a new office now! I wore pink pants. I got flowers and Hallmark cards, of course!

Minnesnowta

My lovely friends and I ventured to the great white north (Minneapolis) this weekend. What were we thinking going to Minnesota in February?! We were thinking - I really want to drink a lot of wine and get trapped in a blizzard!

*****

Does anyone utilized Pedialyte as much as I do to cure those days after you drink a box of wine? Well you should. Sometimes I crave Pedialyte, not because I feel sick, but because I'm pretty sure I could feel better!

We bought these lovely BFF necklaces from Francesca's

We took pictures of random things: owl necklace, tassel necklace, turquoise flower ring, Essie nails in Turquoise and Caicos, Holly Lolly nails, and of course a Franzia box.

When we weren't drinking Pedialyte, we had delicious espresso!

We stole some guys glasses/he left them at our home. Looking geek chic, huh?!

Then we drove home in a blizzard... followed by rain, followed by fog, followed by wind. Oh Midwestern travel!

Party Arty - Eternal Spring

We attended Party Arty again this year at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. It was really beautiful and a breath of fresh air since the theme was Eternal Spring. I think we did justice to the spring theme in our gloriously floral attire!

This gal was our favorite live statue. Loved her tail!

We like to get artistic toward the end of the night...

Cute dress, right?!

Can't go wrong w/ peacocks!

My fascinator is from Donna's Dress Shop. Cutest little place, and I think head pieces are my new thing! So Kate Middelton!

Love you, Frida!

Adventures in Babysitting

Hubby and I had the pleasure of babysitting my nephew this weekend. He is pretty much the cutest thing ever. I have/had a fear of babies, but I think his angelic behavior is helping me get over it. We did lots of cool stuff together!

We watched Top Gear together!

We sat on the couch together.

We looked super cute together.

And laid on the floor together.

We wore stripes together.

And looked cute again!

And we chowed down... a lot.

Sushi Party

Obviously my family has a fondness for theme parties.

Uhni, the birthday girl, really summed up the party accurately, "Thanks all. The theme of my bday party was multi-Asia. haha Japanese sushi, Chinese food, Indian-ish curtain and a half Korean baby."

We decided to throw a sushi/mixed Asian themed birthday party for my brother's wife (who's from Korea). There are so many cute sushi-themed ideas on Pinterest, we had no shortage of options.

Here was the spread! Real sushi, sushi cake, candy sushi, and Chinese food.

My mom made this awesome cake! We kind of followed this idea, but we couldn't find any green Fruit Roll-ups. She ended up getting sugar sheets from Hobby Lobby. The rice is actually coconut and the roe is made of pomegranate seeds.

There are tons of good candy sushi tutorials online. I kind of followed a combination of several to make a cute, delicious, and relatively easy snack.

World Market is a great place for international-themed parties. I found chocolate covered fortune cookies and cute little Asian Harajuku-like cards and boxes.

Ta-da!
